Artist’s Statement

Painting is active. My body moves and sways as I paint, drip, toss, squirt, rub, blot water-based paint building layers of evolving patterns and shapes which reveal intuitive expression of unconscious emotions. My most recent work reveals energetic expressions of interior self-scape of knowing and not knowing.

Background

This spring, I moved to a new, larger and sunny studio at 16355Vanderbilt Drive in Bonita Springs, FL. I welcome visitors.

The Osborn.Lizio Contemporary Gallery represented my artwork as a Signature Artist during January, April and May of 2009.The newly formed Lizio.Brown Gallery will exhibit my work in December 2009. Several of my works were selected by Jack O’Brien, curator of Naples von Liebig Art Center for Finding the Image, Artists Exploring the Creative Process, a group show at Physicians Regional Medical Center from December 2007 through May 2008. In 2006, my four-month-long solo exhibition at the Royal Palm Bank, Naples, FL culminated in my being the featured artist in NAPLES ILLUSTRATED, July 2006.

My work is in several private collections in Naples, Bonita Springs, Boston and Toronto.

As a marketing executive and entrepreneur, I am an energetic self-starter. My skills at planning and creative problem-solving both come into play in my studio. There I find a perfect fit between my solo activities inherent in the artist’s profession and my passion for art.
